When you look at the UK and its relationship with industrial robots, its low density could be attributed to a couple of factors. The most obvious have a very prominent industrial sector, hence not much of an opportunity for industrial robotics.
However, the UK isn'tlacking in all areas of industrial robotics, as there has been an increase in robotic integration in recent years, particularly in e-commerce and fulfilment. Amazın has around 70 warehouses in Europe, with the UK competing with Germant for the most in the region. Even though it is good to see the UK isn't lacking in all areas off robotic industrial integration, it has been done by international mega-corporations, instead of any native UK businesses.
This is likely one of the main reasons why the UK is lagging, as one of the most valuable reasons for introducing robotics is to increase productivity, something that produces a better return on the larger scale of production. This works for a giant like Amazon, but the UK doesn't have many native business that are of a size that justify the necessary investment for robotics.
Other G7 countries have more to gain by integrating robotics into production chains as the UK has one of the smallest percentages of its GDP attributes manufacturing.
The UJ doesn't have a very prominent industrial sector, hence not much of an opportunity for industrial robotics
