RELATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP

The economy of France has contracted by 5.8% from the previous three months in the first quarter. The household consumption dropped by 17.8%. This has triggered the worst recession in France since 1949. 

In order to evaluate the full impact of the coronavirus period, it would be suitable to wait until businesses begin trading again and the France government implements the 110 billion crisis support package. 

Mutual trade relations are also going through a challenging period, where we experience different economic dimensions globally. However, I foresee that commercial and economic relations with France will continue to grow in the next terms with the collaboration of public and private entities. 

Fransa ekonomisi, 2020'nin ilk çeyreğinde bird önceki çeyreğe kıyasla yüzde 5,8 küçüldü. Hane içi tüketimindeki düşüş ise yüzde 17,8 oldu. Bunun sonucu olarak Fransa, 1949 yılından beri gerçekleşen en zorlu resesyon dönemine girdi. 

COVID-19 sonrası dönemde, krizin tüm etkilerini değerlendirmek için ticari ilişkilerin tekrar canlanmasını ve Fransız hükumetinin 110 milyar euroluk destek paketini hayata geçirmesini beklemek yerinde olacaktır. 

Küresel çapta farklı ekonomik boyutları tecrübe ettiğimiz bu dönemde, ikili ticari ilişkiler de zor dönemden geçiyor. Ancak Türkiye - Fransa arasındaki ticari ve ekonomik ilişkilerin, kamu ve özel sektör iş birliğiyle önümüzdeki dönemde gelişmeye devam edeceğini öngörüyorum. 

WE SHOULD FOCUS ON THE POST-BREXIT PERIOD

Brexit Sonrası Döneme Odaklanmalıyız

COVID-19 presents both opportunities and challenges for the future of UK-Turkey relationship. Although it has negatively affected our trade volume in the short run, I am confident that this is a temporary process and the UK will continue to be one of the largest trade partners of Turkey in the future 

Reaching an agreement for future trade relationship post-Brexit will create opportunities for both countries.  In addition, the UK looks to Tukey as an attractive manufacturing hub as it restructures its supply chains. To maximize our potential with the UK, we should allow the free flow of trade, investments, and services between our countries. 

COVID-19, Türkiye-İngiltere ilişkilerinin geleceği için fırsatları da zorlukları da beraberinde getiriyor. İngiltere ile olan ticaret hacmimiz, kısa vadede olumsuz ekilenmiş olsa da bu sürecin geçici olduğunda inanıyorum. Özetle İngiltere, en büyük ticari ortaklarımızdan biri olmaya devam edecek. 

İki ülke için fırsat oluşturulması adına, Brexit sonrası dönemde de ticari ilişkilerimize yönelik bird anlaşmaya varmalıyız. Ayrıca İngiltere, tedarik zincirlerini yeniden yapılandırırken Türkiye'yi cazip bir üretim merkezi olarak görünüyor. İngiltere ile potansiyelimizi en üst seviyeye çıkarmak için ticaret, yatırım ve hizmetlerin serbest dolaşımına izin vermeliyiz.
